It’s time for the VegTeenLife vegan holiday gift guide 2020! If you’re looking for stuff for a vegan friend or if you’re shopping for yourself, I have some great products for you. Here’s everything from cooking classes, to t-shirts, to snack boxes! It can be hard to find good vegan gifts if you’re not used to looking for them, so I hope this helps you:
First on the list is the Food Future Institute. It’s a cooking class created by Matthew Kenney. It’s reasonably priced at a 350 dollar one-time payment, especially when you consider the fact that you get access forever. Plus, if you complete it in a year, you receive a certificate of completion, signed and acknowledged by Matthew Kenney! I personally haven’t tried it myself, but it looks great. If you want to learn more, click here.
Next up, the cooking class from Spork Foods. They have several different rotating one-off cooking classes. They’re reasonably priced right now at $30 for an entire household! Check out their cooking classes here!
Now on to some vegan snacks! If you’re looking for presents for someone who is newly vegan, all of these will be very helpful:
VeganCuts curates monthly vegan subscription boxes. They are a very helpful gift for new vegans. Or, if you’ve been a vegan for a long time, it’s always great to find new vegan products! They have beauty, makeup, and snack boxes, as well as a vegan marketplace! If you want to buy a subscription or a one-time box, you can do so here!
p.s. Use code VEGTEEN for 5 dollars off your order!
E&C makes one of my favorite quick vegan snacks, a product called Heavenly Hunks. It’s a hunk of oats and other ingredients that may not sound great, but they taste amazing, and I basically live on these. They are vegan, organic, and non-GMO! If you want to buy them, you can buy them on Amazon here or on their website here!
Next up, Bobo’s. I love these. They mostly make oat bars. They are non-GMO project verified, all of their food is gluten-free and vegan, and the oats they use are organic! My favorite product of theirs is the stuffed oat bars, but everything tastes great! You can buy them here.
Northern California-based Sjaaks, founded in 2003, is a vegan chocolate company. They have chocolates of all sorts ~ holiday-themed, truffles, nuts & chews, nut-butter filled, gummy-bear filled, and many more!! All of them taste amazing and make great gifts! You can buy them here.
Now for some vegan clothing suggestions. There are some great ones, from Matt and Nat to Brave Gentlemen!
Matt and Nat is a cruelty-free and vegan accessory and outerwear company. They are most well known for their handbags. More recently, they have been branching out into everything from outerwear to shoes and sunglasses. All of their products make awesome gifts! You can check out their website here.
In Vegan Veritas is an LA-based vegan streetwear brand that, in their words, makes “quirky vegan propaganda.” They are eco friendly, plus they’re F.A.K.E. movement approved! If you want to check out their store, you can do so here.
p.s. Every now and then, they post some great vegan memes to their Instagram, so check that out here.
Mooshoes is an iconic vegan store. They sell shoes, accessories, and even some clothes! They also have a great selection of vegan brands including, BeetXBeet, Brave Gentlemen, Veja, and more! They also have a house brand called Novacas (I have a great pair of boots from them!) They have an online store and a New York location. All of their products make great presents! You can go to their website here.
Herbivore Clothing, founded in 2002, is one of the original vegan clothing stores! You can buy from them at their physical location in Portland’s vegan mini-mall or in their online store. They have everything from clothing to pins and accessories! Their website is here.
Compassion Co is a vegan clothing brand. They make some really creative and funny vegan clothing. They use 100% organic cotton, and the ink they use is water-based. If you’re interested in buying one of their shirts, click here!
Brave Gentlemen makes 100% vegan menswear, including faux leather jackets, shoes, tops, and more! They use some really cool materials like Future-Leather, Future-Wool, Future-Silk, and Future-Ivory! They also use many organic plant-based materials! If you want to check out their website, click here!
This is kind of an ad for my vegan/cruelty-free shop ~ I recently created a vegan clothing and accessories store! The supplier I use is environmentally friendly. If you want to read about their commitment to the environment you can do that here. I have a bunch of vegan streetwear/propaganda type shirts and some VegTeenLife merch. I also donate 5% of profits to animal and environmental charities! Here’s the link to my shop: Conscious Designs
Here are a few of my favorite vegan magazine subscriptions.
If you don’t know what VegNews is, they are a magazine of all things vegan. They have an online and a print version. It’s a great resource for new and long-time vegans. A gift subscription makes a wonderful present, and for the holidays, they’re including a free Best Vegan Cookie Cookbook! If you’re interested in buying their magazine, tap here.
Vegout Los Angeles is an LA-based magazine, though they have one for New York City. It’s similar to VegNews, but with a more local perspective. It’s a great magazine, I definitely suggest you get it! If you’d like to buy the magazine or check out their online articles, you can do that here!
For this section, since there are so many vegan health products, I’m just going to write about a few and then list a few more.
Más Moss makes sea moss gel. It has a ton of benefits including containing a bunch of the minerals that your body needs to function, as well as vitamins and antioxidants. If you put it on your face it helps with acne! It’s anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, and a bunch of other stuff! They use excellent quality wild sea moss. There’s also some really interesting information on their website, Instagram, and Facebook. The 8 oz bottle of sea moss gel is free! The rest of the sizes are reasonably priced. You can find their website here!
Amazing Grass is a vegan protein powder. I suggest this one in particular because a lot of vegan protein powders don’t taste that good. In my opinion, this one tastes great! It’s organic and has good ingredients. If you want to buy it on their website, click here, or if you want to buy it on Amazon, click here.
p.s. By the way, the one I tried was the organic protein & kale simply vanilla protein powder.
Radiant Greens is a wonderful product! It has protein, vitamins, minerals, and amino acids! It’s also a combination of immune support, mental acuity support, and it’s an energy booster. Plus it helps with pH balancing! You can buy it here.
Suprema C Extra is a very powerful vitamin C supplement, perfect for boosting your immune system! One bottle is a 3 month supply if you take a serving a day, and if you spend a 100 dollars, you get free shipping! Learn more and buy it here!
Here are a couple of other supplements I like, though you should check with your nutritionist or doctor to make sure you’re getting a good balance, including sufficient B12:
Garden of Life Raw Vitamin C: it’s vegan, gluten-free, and kosher! You can buy it here.
Sea Essentials: it’s a vitamin drink. You can buy it here.
There are a ton of vegan cookbooks out there, so I’m just going to list a few of them here. If you want to see a larger list, you can go to my bookshop page here!
This is basically the standard for vegan cupcakes. I have endlessly eaten the vanilla and chocolate recipes, and they taste delicious! There are many more variations than vanilla and chocolate, but you’ll have to buy it to find out what they are! You can buy it here!
This one is probably one of the most anticipated vegan “cookbooks” of the year. Everyone from Joaquin Phoenix to Mayim Bialik to Chloe Coscarelli have talked about it and it isn’t even out yet! If you’re interested in buying it, you can buy it here. It comes out on the 15th.
Vegetarian Cooking for Everyone is basically an encyclopedia of how to cook every vegetable! Most recipes are vegan and the vegetarian ones are easy to veganize. It’s very helpful, and makes a great gift for new vegans or vegetarians. You can buy it here!
Isa Chandra Moskowitz has a ton of vegan cookbooks. They’re all super helpful and make great gifts! You can buy it here!
If you or someone you know is always busy, getting a vegan meal kit service is a great present. It speeds up the food preparation process a lot! Here are a few of my favorites:
Splendid Spoon is vegan, gluten-free, and GMO-free. You can pick from a variety of smoothies, soups, noodles, and grain bowls, like Vegetable Bolognese Bowl, Green Matcha Smoothie, and Red Lentil Dal. They also have an option to add a Wellness Shot to your order! Splendid Spoon offers a monthly subscription to their meal delivery service. They currently ship to all of the lower 48 states. If you’re interested in buying one of their meal kits, tap here.
Veestro is a 100% plant-based meal delivery service. The meals come fully prepared, just heat and eat! There are 3 options you can choose from: Chef’s Choice, Weight Loss, & A La Carte. Chef’s Choice and Weight Loss are monthly subscription options. You can pause or cancel whenever you want, or if you want to give Veestro a try first, the A La Carte option is a great choice as it is a one-time-only order. Veestro offers dishes like Country Fried Chick’n, Portobello Steak Dinner, and Jackfruit Pozole! They deliver everywhere in the continental United States. If you’re interested in buying one of their meal kits, click here.
Vegin’ Out is 100% vegan, and they are 75% organic! They’re based in LA and were founded in 2008. They have several different meal plans you can choose from, with dishes like Veggie Paella, Lemon Pepper Farfalle, and Vegetable Tofu Curry! They ship nationwide, except Alaska and Hawaii, plus they have gluten-free options! If you want to buy one of their meal kits, you can do that here.
If you want to see some more vegan meal kits click here for my list of the best vegan meal kits!
Now that I have gone over some of the best brands to get holiday gifts from, I am going to list some of the my favorite individual gifts!
This is probably the best cookbook for vegan cookies. My favorite recipes are the chocolate chip cookie, the brownie, and the gingerbread, though all of the recipes taste great! You can buy it here!
If you’re going to buy a subscription box, this is one of my favorites! I’ve bought the snack box several times, and I’ve always been happy with what I received. I usually get at least a few especially good new vegan snacks! Considering you get ten products or so in the box, it makes a pretty good deal! If you’re interested in buying a snack box, click here.
Heavenly Hunks: Oatmeal Chocolate Chip bites taste really good! If you need a quick snack to get your energy up, this works great. It’s all organic, gluten-free, and vegan! Plus, instead of being sugary and having a ton of chemicals, it has a pretty good amount of protein per hunk (especially considering my average serving is a 1,000!). They taste like a delicious oatmeal bar with dark chocolate! If you’re interested in buying this, you can do that here!
Sjaak’s makes a bunch of great-tasting candy. The Melk® Chocolate Bar is probably my favorite. If you want to check it out, click here.
If you’re looking for a 100% beeswax-free lip balm, I would highly suggest the Eco Lips’ Bee Free Lip Balm! I’ve been using it my entire life. It works great, it’s mostly organic, it’s non-GMO, and it’s not tested on animals! This can be an especially helpful gift for new vegans, but it’s useful for everyone! If you want to buy it, you can get it on Amazon here or their website here!
I found out about Goodmylk recently, so I don’t know much about them yet, but it seems like they’re a good company. Their ingredients look great and everything’s organic. They have powdered almond, hemp, and oat mylks. Tap here for their website, or you can buy it on Amazon here.
I haven’t tried any of these (a few of them I can’t), but they look great!
Madame Shugah®, woman-owned bakery
Plant Based Bake Shop, women-owned bakery
Hera The Dog Vodka, online wine store, 100% of the profits go to animals
Rescuerosé, online wine shop that donates to Love Leo Rescue!
Vromage is a 100% vegan cheese shop in West Hollywood! It has by far the best vegan cheese in Los Angeles! The owner, Youssef, makes everything in-house, from vegan gorgonzola to vegan camembert. My two favorites would have to be the brie and truffles, and the goat-style cranberry! The cheese makes a great gift for yourself, or you could even give it to a friend! You can pick it up in store, or you can get it shipped. You can buy it here!
Thank you for reading all the way through! I hope it helped you find some great vegan gifts for the holiday season! If you liked it, please share it, or comment below with your go-to vegan gift!
Also, If you’re looking for some more vegan gift ideas, check out my list of faux leather jackets here and my vegan deals page here!
p.s. If you’re a long-time reader, thanks for reading so far, and stay tuned for everything in 2021! Or, if you’re new here, welcome, and I hope you stick around and say hi on Instagram!
Some things you should avoid when buying a vegan gift for yourself or a friend are: any food that contains animal-based ingredients like meat, eggs, dairy (cheese, milk, ice cream), or gelatin. Hidden food ingredients, in items such as red wine and marshmallows, like isinglass, albumen, and bone char (used to process sugar). Beauty products containing ingredients like lanolin, beeswax, and carmine. Clothes that are made with fur, leather, wool, or silk. Candles made from beeswax. Pearl jewelry.
Often times it will have a vegan label on it, or you can check the ingredient list.
You can buy a vegan gift almost anywhere, as long as it says it’s vegan. But some great sites to buy vegan gifts from are MooShoes.com, VeganEssentials.com, and BillionVegans.com, or you can see a full list of vegan gifts in our gift guide!
By the way, if you click through some of the links on this page (like Amazon), I get a small percentage of the sale, if you buy something. This comes at no extra cost to you! And it will help me pay for things like the domain, web hosting, or food from restaurants to write restaurant reviews. Thanks in advance for clicking through!
