If you’re looking for a list of the best places to go for vegan food in Los Angeles, you have come to the right place!!!!!
The Best Places to Go for Vegan Food in Los Angeles
So you may have read my Ten Best Vegan Restaurants in Los Angeles article and be thinking, “why is he writing a second post that sounds very similar?” That’s because there are so many vegan food places in Los Angeles, but a lot of them don’t fit into the category of “vegan restaurant”! So I decided to write this article that has a broader topic. With everything from vegan cheese shops to vegan restaurants to vegan donut shops, Los Angeles has a lot more than Ten Best Vegan Restaurants!

Vromage – West Hollywood
Vromage is a 100% vegan cheese shop in West Hollywood! It has by far the best vegan cheese in Los Angeles! The owner, Youssef, makes everything in-house, from vegan gorgonzola to vegan camembert. My two favorites would have to be the brie and truffles, and the goat-style cranberry! As well as cheese, he has several dishes, including an open faced sandwich and a cheese platter, which tasted great!

Donut Friend – Highland Park and DTLA
Donut Friend is one the best vegan donut shops in Los Angeles!!! They are my favorite donut shop. It’s hard to leave without buying a dozen, partially because you get 10% off when you buy a dozen! My favorite donut is the Strawberry Lab! One of the main reasons their donuts taste so good, is because a lot of their donuts are raised donuts, instead of cake donuts ~ the traditional vegan donut that people make. They have two locations, their original location in Highland Park, and one in DTLA.

Hugo’s
Hugo’s is one of my favorite restaurants! Even though it’s not 100% vegan, they have tons of vegan options! Most of their menu can be veganized or is already vegan, and they have had vegan options for a long time! One of my favorites is their vegan Rueben. They make the deli slices and sauerkraut in-house! Their pancakes and cinnamon swirl french toast are some of the best I’ve ever had. It’s hard to be healthy and not have sugar when they exist! By the way, you can order a mixed plate of pancakes and French toast. It just has to equal three pieces! They have two locations: one in West Hollywood, and one in Studio City.

Shojin – DTLA
Shojin is a gourmet, all-vegan, Japanese restaurant! They have two locations: their original one in DTLA and their second one in Culver City. I’ve been going to Shojin since it opened about 13 years ago, and I have always loved their food!! I highly suggest everything on the menu!!! The service is also excellent and they are all very friendly! I would suggest having a reservation, which you can do here.
p.s. They are macrobiotic, allergen-friendly, organic, use no table salt (it is not needed ~ all of their food is amazing), and they do not use refined sugar! If you’re interested about learning more about them, you can do that here. I also talk about them in this list here.

Little Pine – Silver Lake
Little Pine is a great place for foodies. It’s an all vegan restaurant in Silver Lake. I have gone to this restaurant several times. The appetizers are great. For a main dish, I would suggest the flat bread pizza. 100% of their profits go to animal charities! You’ll probably want a reservation for this one too, which you can do here.
p.s. Little Pine is owned by the musician Moby.
p.p.s. Little Pine is Yolandi_eats_la approved! If you don’t know, Yolandi_eats_la is the adventures of Yolanda an adorable vegan Chihuahua eating at all of the vegan restaurants in LA. You should definitely check them out!

Wild Living Foods – DTLA
Wild Living Foods has a very creative, vegan take on classic foods. I was a bit skeptical at first, but I’m glad I gave them a try! I’ve had the “meatball”, and pesto pastas. The pasta is all made out of seaweed! The other foods are also very creative. All of it tastes amazing! This is more of a casual, trendy restaurant. There aren’t a ton of seats, though I was able to get a table easily. I think they are busiest during lunch, and I was there in the evening. They’re also 100% organic, and most of their food is raw!

Sun Cafe – Studio City
I’ve been going to Sun Cafe for a long time, and all of their food is great! All of their food is organic! If you don’t know, organic means GMO-free, pesticide-free, and much more! My favorite dish of theirs is probably the BLT, or their margarita pizza. It’s a little more on the high-end side then Wild Living Food, but still somewhat casual. They also have a lot of raw options.
p.s. definitely check out their desserts!

Hinterhof Vegan Restaurant – Highland Park
This is a recent one for me, but it’s already a favorite! It’s located in a great area for vegan food ~ just down the street from Donut Friend!!! I suggest heading to Donut Friend for lunch and then Hinterhof for dinner! I enjoyed all of the food I tried ~ I suggest the Jägerschnitzel, and the potato pancakes! You can find out more about this one by checking out my review here.

O’cado – Sherman Oaks
O’cado is in a trendy area of Ventura Boulevard. I like all of the food that I’ve eaten there so far! I suggest having the B.T.L.A. and the Crispy Brussels Sprouts, which are great! It’s a 100% plant-based restaurant! You might want a reservation for this one.

Sage – Echo Park, Culver City, Pasadena
I’ve been going to Sage and Kindkreme, which is owned by the same person, for a long time, and all of their food is great! They have a Mexican and American inspired menu, though my favorite dish of theirs is probably the eggplant, artichoke, parmesan pizza. There’s a Kindkreme location inside of every Sage. By the way, Kindkreme is an all-vegan ice cream place! You’re probably fine for a reservation as all of their locations are pretty large.

Ladurée – Beverly Hills
You’ve probably heard of this French boutique chain, but what you might not know is that recently it went 100% vegan at its Beverly Hills location! Laduree plans to go 100% vegan at all of its locations! I have gone to their Beverly Hills location once so far. It was really good! Their recipes were veganized by Matthew Kenney, who is a vegan chef with several LA operations, including Plant Food + Wine in Venice, and many others across the U.S. I tried the Croque Monsieur and the Club Ladurée, as well as a couple of macarons. I highly suggest them! Definitely check this place out!

Follow Your Heart – Canoga Park
Follow Your Heart is a classic for long-time vegans in Los Angeles. I’ve been going there for a long time and always liked their food. I would suggest the buckwheat pancakes for brunch, and the club or ‘meatball’ sandwiches for dinner. They use organic and seasonal ingredients, whenever possible. They have gluten-free options and a no salt, no oil, no sugar (SOS) menu. In their vegetarian market, they have a great selection of organic and vegan foods.

Doomie’s – Hollywood
Doomie’s makes comfort food that tastes great! I would suggest having the Western Burger or the Crispy “Chicken”. Of course, the Fried Avocado, and the Garlic Fries taste great too! I definitely suggest checking them out! They also have a Mexican restaurant next door.
p.s. It’s a great place to go with friends, or family that aren’t vegan, or vegetarian!

Joi Cafe – Westlake Village
Joi Cafe is a 100% vegan cafe, focused on making healthy, great-tasting food. I’ve been once so far, because it’s a bit far from where I live. I recommend the “Chicken” Alfredo pizza (it has a ton of vegetables on it, so there’s no guilt about having a pizza!), and the Beast Burger. I enjoyed both! They also have 100% organic coffee!
Location:
2855 Agoura Road
Westlake Village, CA 91361

Le Pain Quotidien
Le Pain Quotidien is long-time, vegan-friendly restaurant chain! They have several locations in Los Angeles, Chicago, on the East Coast, and all over the world! I recommend the Crispy Quinoa Cakes, the Avocado Toast, the Lentil and Avocado Salad, and the Gaspacho Soup! And a lot of their ingredients are organic! It’s a great place to take your non-vegan and vegan friends alike!

They have many in LA. You can use their restaurant locator here.
